LINKING UP.

H.M.S. DELHI. JOINS AUSTRALIAN FLEET. H.M.s. Delhi arrived in Sydney Harbour a week ago. from the Mediterranean, and saluted the Hag of Commodore T. E. Wardte. The Delhi is temporarily erplacing H.M.A.s. Melbourne, at present with the British Squadron in the Mediterranean. Of the "D" type, she visited Sydney with the Special Service Squadron under Admiral Field, some time ago. After her return to England she was commissioned as one of the first cruiser class, which is attached to the Mediterranean fleet. She was built in 1019. and her sister-ships are the Dunedin (now on the New Zealand station) and the Durban. Of 4750 tons displacement, the Delhi lias a length of 44.3 ft. and a beam of 40ft. She was constructed at Armstrong's yard. Elswick. Her armament consists of six Uin guns, two 3in guns, and she is fitted with twelve torpedo tubes. Her complement is 460 all told. Captain K. E. L. Creighton, M.V.0., Croix de Guerre, being in command, with Commander H. Pi. Moore, D.5.0., the next in rank. After leaving the Mediterranean, the Delhi called at Port Said, Aden, Colombo, Penany, Singapore. Batavia. Christmas Island, and Fremantle. The visit to Christmas Island was much appreciated by the islanders. The last warship to call there was the Dartmouth, in 1910. The Delhi wiil accompany the Australian fleet on its cruise to Hobart this month.
