HOTEL WAITING-ROOMS. LONDON,. January 13. "No. sir. we are not going to tha dogs." says the "'Evening News." discussing the lament of Mr. Frank Downer, of Adelaide, that London women are mad lon dogs. i The newspaper adds: '"While London is not swarming with dogs, it must be {admitted, in fairness to the 'Australian | dog-spotter,' that modern woman's era.ci I for a "doggy pet' has forced hotel--, | restaurants and shops to make elaboratJ .arrangements for parking the animal-. |At one shop an assistant minds 100 each j day. and most restaurants provide a J dogs' waiting-room." i One head waiter said: "It is surprising '; how many women try to smuggle litt!-; | Topsy or Sweetkm into the restaurant. j They seem heartbroken a: having to ! leave them to the mer.;y of the cru-l I world." ; The best London hotels have special : kennels. Women pay as much as 100 ; guineas for a "loppy pet."
