DELUGE IN SYDNEY.
THUNDER, LIGHTNING, FLOOD t SUBURBS UNDER WATER. TRAMS LEAVE THE RAILS. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copvris&t.) (Received 12 noon.) SYDNEY, this day. A tropiea.l deluge, accompanied by thunder and lightning, caused damage to many business premises by flooding. The fire brigade was called to pump out several cellars. Many low-lying parts of the suburbs are under water. Traffic was blocked owing to debris causing trams to leave the rails. At Pyrraont the water rose to a height of three feet. A total of l.SOin rain fell in two hours. (A. and N.Z.)
