I . Judging by the- decisions already made | by local unions, the indications are that [ Mr. Hiram Hunter, the present workers' : representative, will receive practically : unanimous support in Christchurch. The I , following unions have decided to sup- j port him: Amalgamated Society of Car-I renters and Joiners. Furniture Trade- I 1 Union. Brush and Broom Workers' Union. Tailoresses' Union. Grocers i " Assistants' Union. The General Labour- " ers' Union and the Engineers' Union j will decide the matter to-night, and ? other unions will deal with the matter ' later this week. Nominations for the position do not close until February 1. r Each union will then receive a ballot paper containing the names of the candi- ' dates.
