POLITICS IN CANADA.
A FIGHT PENDING. HECTIC SEASON AHEAD. OTTAWA, January 18. When the debate on the Speech from the Throne begins in the House of Commons to-day, Mr. A. Meighen. the Conservative leader, will be the first Opposition speaker. It is understood that he will move a further amendment calling for a straightout want of confidence vote against the Government. The moving of this second amendment will mark a renewal of the battle for political supremacy which was waged in the House last week and culminated in the victory of the Government by a narrow majority. Indications point to a continuance of a very hectic session of Parliament. Whether the Prime Minister (Mr. W. Mackenzie King) will be opposed by a Conservative or a Progressive when he stands for the Prince Albert seat has not •been decided. — (Reuter.)
