DECEMBER BIRTHS.
A SLIGHT DECREASE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tliursdav. The total births registered for the urban ureas of the Dominion during December amounted to 1074> against 1080 in November, a decrease of 12. Deaths in December were 507, an increase of 33 as compared with the previous month. Of the total deaths males contributed ■2.18 and females 251. Fifty-one of the deaths were of children under five years '. of age, being 10.06 per cent of the whole j number. Thirty-nine of these were under j one year of age.
