ACCEPTANCES FOR THE SECOND DAY. THE FIELDS REVIEWED. The annual meeting of the Thames Jockey Club will be concluded at the Takapuna Jockey Club's course to-mor-row. The fields are not very large in the majority of the events, but there should be some good racing. Prince Rufus- and Kendal are newcomers in the Thames Hurdles. The former won the New Year Hurdlea at Ellerslie with 61b less than he is called upon to carry to-morrow, and that should not seriously inconvenience him. Bustler was second yesterday and these two will probably carry most money. The Parawai Handicap provides the best field of the day, numerically. Berinthia, on her second in the Trial Plate yesterday, will have some friends, while Winsome Boy and Maveelish may be best backed of the others. The President's Handicap is the chief sprint event of the day. Civility and Cawnpore did not start on the first day, while King Pot and Day Guard filled the chief positions in the Flying Handicap yesterday, and Areheen was just beaten in a seven furlong , event. The public may fancy Civility, Cawnpore, and Day Guard. Holymond, Eh Timi and Quincoma may be the public selections when the machine closes for the County Handicap. There is a fairly good field in the Thames Plate. Ruapapa heads the list with 9st, and he should be among those fancied. Daylight ran pretty well in the Goldfields Cup for over a mile, while Royal Present was second in that event, Sleepy Sol and Pinon, which won an eight and a-half furlong event, at the Manawatu meeting, appear to be the best of those lower down. Most money may possibly be invested on Ruapapa, Royal Present and Pinon. The Juvenile Handicap may possibly see Tea Time, and True Blood the favourites, while Miss Vera, Brushwood Boy and Scat may be best backed in the Kaueranga Handicap. If Daylight is reserved for the Farewell Handicap, lie will have a lot of friends, while Mount Marta and Charlady may possibly be most fancied of the others. The first race is timed to start about 11.45 a.m., and there will be a frequent ferry service. The programme is as follows:— THAMES HANDICAP HURDLES of 200 sovb. One mile and three-quarters. St. lb.
