HOMESTEAD DESTROYED.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Thursday. Waikereru station homestead, owned 3y Mr. Henry Hegarty, was destroyed )y fire on Tuesday. The fire was probibly started through burning off the >ld paint. The dwelling comprised 12 rooms. Strenuous efforts to quell tbe ire were unavailing owing to lack of s-atcr.
