ZANE GREY.
' I COMING VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND. I Zane Grey, the eminent author, is on his way to New Zealand, and will arrive by the Makura from Vancouver on Monday. The advent of Zane Grey to New . Zealand is very significant. From a pub- j licity point of view, the visit of this world-famed writer will probably mean more to New Zealand than visits of many other great personages. Zane | Grey is, probably, the world's greatest sportsman and a tourist of no mean I .order; consequently, any impressions of this country that may be acquired by him will be of'great value to New Zealand. Accordingly, every assistance will j be given him in selecting and visiting I our chief fishing, sporting and scenic resorts. Another object of Mr. Grey's | I visit to New Zealand, according to cable : ■ advice received, is to secure material for i a story which will subsequently be produced in America by Paramount Pictures. With a view to giving Mr. Grey every | facility for seeing New Zealand and I gathering material of interest, it has been arranged that the Government Publicity Officer (Mr. A. H. Messenger) and representatives of the Famous Lasky Film Service Company, in New Zealand, will wait on Mr. Grey. A proposal will be made to him to travel through New Zealand at the Government's expense, and the Government Publicity Department is at : present collecting a range of interesting historical and geographical works with the object of making a presentation to the famous novelist. The Government (if Mr. Grey so desires) will take a film of him in some of the chief sporting localities in this country, and this will be exhibited in the United. States. I
