LIBRARIANS CONFER.

ADDRESS BY MR: J. BARR. (3y Telesraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. The fourth conference of representatives of the public libraries was opened this morning, when delegates were welcomed by the Mayor. Mr. John Barr, librarian of the Auckland Library, gave an address on the present position and future libraries in New Zealand. He suggested that the Parliamentary Library should be made into a national library so as to cater for the needs of rural districts.
