, CRICKET IN AUSTRALIA. SHEFFIELD SHIELD MATCH. SYDNEY, January 11. The Sheffield Shield cricket match, New South Wales v. South Australia, was commenced to-day. New South Wales in their first innings made 339 runs for four jvickets (Collins 108, Bardsley 159, Macartney 26, Kippax 21). Collins scored slowly, taking no risks, but he gave three easy chances, 'one before he had reached double figures.
