RAMSAY MacDONALD'S FIRST JOB.
An interesting confession was made by Mr. Ramsay Mac Donald at a meeting- of. the Cyclists' Touring Clulj at Kingsway Halt It might be. of interest to cyclists said 'Mr.; "Mac Donald, that the first money he ever earned in London was as a lad -addressing wrappers on the copies of .th_: "Gazette"" of that club in ISSS Incidentally, from the smallnesa of the salary he-received, all the member- of the. committee .must have been Scotsmen. That first job, like a more recent position ho had filled, was only of a temporary nature, but thdt he had not had nuicn inclination to make eithe- a permanency. (Laughter.) Mr Mac Donald said that he was compeM to-.nake the shameful admission that he had never covered 20 yards on a hicycie He had always preferred to u§e Shanks' mare.
