A.D. 1202. Arthur of Brittany wa* a mere tool in the hands of the French King. By him he was sent with a *mall force to seize his grandmother, Queen Eleanor, in the Caatle of Mirebeau. He and hi* follower* were captured by John. The fate of Arthur, a hoy of thirteen, is unknown, except that he wa* never seen again. John is said to hare stabbed. h«m with feu own hand, but he was, at all events, directly responsible for his death.
