THE WHEAT AGREEMENT.

(By Telegrapu.—Press Association.)

CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The announcement of the Minister'of Agriculture that the Government has decided to fix prices of wheat for the coming season at 6/5, 6/7 and 6/9, has caused concern to wheat , growers in Canterbury. As the result of representations made to it on behalf of the growers who stand to lose a good deal •under the Government's scheme, the Agricultural and Pastoral Association has convened a meeting of growers for Wednesday next. At this meeting the whole question will be discussed and representations made to the Government.

The above is directed against an agreement entered into at a conference held in Ashburton last week. This was said to be the most representative conference that had yet been held to deal with the wheat question. w-Jir* meeti ng a resolution, moved &**• J ?- Hall, of North Canterbury, control of^ VOrnm ? ut be askeii t0 t(lke to£L??, mnlg *ttog of all the 1925- - --aPPropriat /5 ' YJ, and 6/9 f °- b - Har c T3i te Wa rno p nt % increments from dissenting. carried » only four voices
