ACCIDENT ON RAILWAY.

MAN'S LEG AMPUTATED. (By Telegriph.—Special to "Star.") WANGANUI, this day. A young man named Jas. D. Hay, married, with one child, was run over by a railway truck in Aramoho Station yards last night, and sustained injuries necessitating , amputation of his left leg. He was riding towards the platform, when his cycle skidded near the track, throwing him in the path of a line of trucks being shunted off a train. Before he had time to rise the front wagon passed over him, severely crushing his left leg and right he,el. It was found necessary to amputate his left leg at the thigh, and his condition this morning was serious. Hay, aged about thirty, is an assistant clerk employed in the district traffic manager's office at Wanganui.
