AUCKLAND SITTING OPENED. , FIXTURES ARRANGED. The Arbitration Court opened' its Auckland sitting thie morning, his Honor Hγ. Justice Frazer presiding, and having with him Messrs. H. Hunter and W. Scott, assessors for the unions and em- , ployers respectively. The following dates ; were fixed for the hearing of cases: — ; Thursday, 10th.—Freezing workers' in- ; terpretation, 10 a.m.; Northern timber workers' dispute, 10.30 ajn. Friday, 11th. —Appeal by Seamen's Union against magistrate's decision, 10 a.m. Saturday, 12th.—Application to amend motor engineer apprenticeship orders, also northern district electrical works, and appeal against Plumbers' Apprenticeship Committee. Monday, 14th.—Auckland electrical workers' (s w » tchDoard attendants) dispute, 10 a.m.; followed by interpretation of tea rooms award; application'to add parties to freezing workers' award, 2.15 p.m.; application to add parties to drivers' award, 4 p.m. Tuesday, 15th.—Wilson v. Towers, 10 a.m. Wednesday, 16th. —Merchant Service Guild dispute, 10 a.m.; Pollard v. Stevenson, 2.15 p.m. Thursday, 17th.—Miller v. Armstrong, Whitwdrth, 10 a.m.; application to amend furniture trades order, 2.15 p.m. Parties Added. There being no objections, parties were added to the following awards: plumbers and gasfitters' award, all parties except Wright, Stephenson and Co.; electrical workers' award; harness and saddle makers; contractors, builders and labourers; etoremen and packers. , Aβ Recommended. Complete agreements having been reached by the parties at the hearing of disputes by the Conciliation Council, the court will make awards in the following trades, in terms of the recommendations: Auckland builders and concrete workers; enginedrivers; cleaners, caretakers and liftmen. The closing hours for South Auckland butchers were fixed as agreed to. Aβ application by employers to strike a levy of 5/ to improve the plant at the Techineal College for apprentices to plumbing and gaefitting was granted.
