THE SANDERS CUP.
SECOND WELLINGTON TRIAL. A WIN FOR WELLESLEY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The, second trial race for the Sanders Cup took place last evening in light southerly weather. The course led from the starting line (between Clyde Quay and Taranaki Street wharves) to Coromandel Buoy, to the port and. back, the finishing line being the same as the starting line. The race commenced at a-quarter to six, and the Wellesley managed to get a 4s break on. All Black. Wellesley maintained her lead, and rounded Coromandcl Buoy, half a length in front of All Black. Wellesley seemed to hold the windward position steadily, and gradually drew away from the other boat. Peggy rounded Coromandel Buoy last. At this stage Peggy appeared to blanket AH Black. The wind had .now freshened to a nice steady breeze, and all the boats carried leading jibs. About halfway between the buoy arid home, All Black changed her headeail to a working jib, and seemed slightly to improve her position. In the end Wellesley won by 52e from All Black. Honours are now even.
