IMPORTATION OF PULP? Bakers are alarmed at the high price of eggs, and "the New Zealand Master Bakers' Association lifts requested the Government to remove the embargo on. tho importation of egg pulp (says the Christchurch "Press" in its issue of Saturday, ln tlfe event of such action, the poultryrfieh will, of course, be affected, ahd the Standing Committee of the New Zealand Poultrymen's Association considered the matter yesterday, but tlie Teeult of its deliberations are not yet known. Eggs at present cost bakers 1/8 per dozen at the railway station, indicating that, when the supply falls off, prices will be very high. Bakers and pastrycooks declare that the prejudice against egg pulp was deliberately created by poultrym6n, to prevent its importation. As a matter of fact, they declare, it is a satisfactory substitute for the\local article. It is stated that the local demand for eggs cannot be met, and famine conditions may develop. 1
