CURTAINS CATCH FIRE.

BLAZE AT DAROAYILLE. (I'.y Telegraph.- Own Correspondent ) DARGAVILLE, this day. A large residence in llokianga Road, lately occupied by Mr. R. E. llornblow, but now tenanted by Mr. 15. Y. Rope, had a narrow escape from being destroyed by lire last night. Miss Dryers was putting the children to bed when. the curtains caught fire from a lighted cam"o near. Prompt action by Mrs. Ralph Ha 1 .ing. .Miss Brycrs and a |i.1!.0r by, Mr. George Radley, saved tlie building. The only damage done vaa tint the curtains and blinds wen- destroyed. Mrs. [larding wns burned about the hands and arms, and slip is suffering from shock. Mr. nnd Mrs. Rope are uwav at ne Dunedin Exhibition.
