NO STRIKE FOR WALSH. NO IDLENESS FOR JOHNSON*. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright-^ (Received 12.30 p-m.) £j SYDNEY, this day. A meeting of seamen decided to defer; consideration of any proposals for opposi to the deportationu of Walsh and Johnson until the outcome of the Higb, Court proceedings is known. It is known that, the delegates commissioned at a previous meeting to inquire whether kindred organisations would strike if a strike launched by seamen as a protest against deportations occurred, have submitted a report which makes it clear that responsible union, leaders ahe opposed to taking any industrial action on behalf of Walsh and Johnson. It is pointed out that certain extremists are anxious for a strike, but it is added that these people could not; be considered seriously, as they admitted that the unions they rcprespntcd would not even consider the question of striking.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
