ARSENICAL APPLES.
PRECAUTIONS IN LONDON. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON) December 1. The Port of London medical officers held up 40,000 cases of American apples at the docks. Some importers who received delivery at Covent Garden are using a small army of women to wipe each apple to remove all trace of spray, to guard against the possibility of a repetition of arsenical poisoning.— (A. and N.Z.)
