TAXES FOR JEAN. PROPOSED £50,000,000 YEARLY. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, December 1. The Paris correspondent of the "Daily Express" says that M. Loucheur will announce new taxation amounting to £50,000.000 a year for seven years.— (A. and N.Z. Cable,)
NEW PREMIER'S POLICY,
LONDON, December 1. The Paris correspondent of the ''Morning Post" says that the main outlines of the policy of the new Premier (M. Briand) include a return to the single electorate system. This is taken to mean that M. Briand is convinced an early appeal to the country is necessary in order to end the present unsatisfactory position.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
