AT DEVONPORT.

From the balcony of Lane's Tearooms at Devonport last night, the three "Waitemata, candidates addressed. acrowd of several thousands. Mr. A. Harris expressed his heartfelt" thanks for the magnificent vote, recorded in his favour. He believed that there was a general desire for a pood, stable Government. Mr. Harris then thanked his committee and supporters for their excellent work, while he also paid a warm tribute to the Labour candidate, Mr. A. G. Osborne, who had fought a' particularly clean fight and gained a large number of votes. At Mr. Harris' call three cheers were given for the two unsuccessful candidates. Mr. A. G. Osborne, in briefly returning thanks to those who had voted 'for him so well, also to his committee, said that the large increase in the Labour vote in Waitemata was undoubtedly due to the educational work of the Labour party.
