GUILTY OF FALSE PRETENCES. YOUXn MAX REMAXDKD. A vonrur raau. named Fium-is Matthew Dodunski appeared at the 1v.1i.-c Court before Mr. K. K. Hunt, S.M.. this morning, when ho pleaded guilty to throe charges of obtaining a total of £.1 in money, and a-jfold wristlet watch, worth £2 .■>/, by means of valueless cheques and by -pretences. Chief Detective C'ummings said that Dodunski had obtained £75 from a woman to put into a business, hut instead of 'devotfng the money for this purpose he paFd £30 on a motor car, t>nd opened up a bank account with the rest. He had been warned by the bank that his account had been overdrawn, but accused did not take any notice of this warning, and got the watch mid money by means of valueless chequr.-, well knowing that he had not the money in the hank to. jneet the cheques. Tinwhole trouble was that accused was n it too fond of work. lie had a good tinu: joy-riding about in a motor .ar. anil the methods of getting the £7-3 were far from satisfactory. Mr. Hunt remanded accuwd until Thursday for senten.ce, stating that '.<■ would confer with the Probation I'inVer in the meantime.
