PLENTY OF APPLICANTS. £30 PER JOB. NEW YORK, Octohcr 21. What is the most undesirable of jobs? Most people would mention the hangman's—and be wronjr. The executioner nt Ping- ?~in<r prison has resigned, but it was qnite unnecessary to advertise the vacancy. Gaol authorities were astonished at the larsre number of persons desirous of officiating at the electric chair. ' On the first day alone there were 150 applicants. Xo -n-asres are paid, but a fee of £30 for each electrocution.
