Advice from Wellington states that the pilot launch Arahina arrived at the capital port from Auckland on Saturday morninj: last. The launch, which called at Tokomaru Bay. Gisborue. and Napier encountered very heavy weather on her trip down the coast, but proved herself a fine sea boat, with a pood turn of speed. TOFUA IN PORT. An arrival nt Auckland this morning was the Union Company's passenger steamer Tnfna (Captain H. Dryden). from Western Pacific Islands. Departure was taken from Auckland on the usual monthly trip at 31.20 a.m.. on the 10th nJt..' and the usual calls made at Fijian. Tonsin and Samoan ports. A call was made at Niuafou and mail dropped. The voyage through the islands was uneventful, fine weather and smooth seas being experienced. The Karori arrived at Gisborne yesterday morning, and is expected to leave there on Thursday next for Auckland. The Tofua is to sail again for Western Pacific islands at 11 a.m. on Saturday. CROSSHLLL ARRIVED. Carrying a carco of nitrates, the British steamer Crosshiil arrived at Auckland from Iquique at an early hour this morning. Later she underwent inspection before berthing at the eastern side of the Kinjr's wharf to commence her discharge. On her m-ent trip the Cros'shill took her departure from Iquique on October 5, and experienced fair weather during the early part of the voyage. The steamer passed close to Pitcairn Island on the afternoon of October 19. The weather continued fine until October 27. when a hard westerly gale was encountered. The conditions continued stormy for ■ three days, but then improved, and the remainder of the trip was made "without incident. From Auckland the Crosshiil is to sail at noon tomorrow for Sydney to continue discharge. The Crossbill, which Is owned by Messrs. Meßeth. Blackwood and Laurie, of Glasgow, is on her first visit to this port. She is commanded by Captain G. Stewart, -who has with him the following oflieers: Ist. Mr. J. S. Flett: 2nd, Mr E.
