FIREMEN'S BALL STOPPED, j
MELBOURNE, October 1
A boot factory, owned by MessrsSpicer and Co.. at Clifton Hill, was destroyed by fire last nignt. The damac-e is estimated at about £50,000.
When the outbreak occurred the members of the fire brigade were taking part in their annual ball. They had to stop dancing hurriedly, don their uniforms, . and rush to the scene of the outbreak. — (A .and N.Z. Cable.) j
