The firemen on coastal vessels !havs decided not to attend to boiler valves, holding that this is part of an engineer's duty. Two vessels were delayed ats Auckland yesterday but are expected to leave to-day. The Limited Express arrived fronl Wellington over two hours late thia morning, at 11.40. Four trucks on a goods train were derailed at 9 .o'clock last night between Mangaweka and Utiku. Supreme Court judgment in favour .of the defendant given to-day on a claim against the ship Westland for , £7534 damages to a cargo of galvanised wire. Court found that damage was not caused on board, but in Mew York Harbour. The cost to the Government of the American Fleet's visit was £20,000. The Supplementary Estimates contain a grant of £6000 to the widow of the late Prime Minister and a Government contribution of £5000 on account towards a national memorial to Mr. Massey.
