Ri.-har.l Edward Ellis, alias Victor Edward William Ellis, pleaded guilty at the Magistrate* Omrt to-day to four charges of issuing valueless cheques, to tbe total value of £41! 13/. to various tradesmen in the town, and was committed to the Supremo Court for sentence. Accused was arrested in Auckland a month uuo. and since then has been appearing in various courts in the North Island on similar charges.
