AN APOLOGY.
COUNCILLOR EXPRESSES REGRET.
I CAMBRIDGE COUNCIL INCIDENT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, Tuesday. At an adjourned meeting of the I Borough 'Council, held last evening, the playor (Mr. T. F. Richards) presiding, : the following resolution was carried: i " The Council extends to his Worship the playor sympathy in the unpleasant situation occasioned at the Council table on I Thursday evening last, together with a councillor's uncalled for attack, and the Council assures his Worship of the confidence and support of councillors in the administration of the" affairs of the I .Borough, and that the forearuing be ; recorded in the minutes." ! Councillor T. A. Kelly, who was suspended on Thursday evening as the result of personal remarks made concerning the Mayor during a speech to a notice of ■ motion brought forward hy tin- offending ; councillor, tendered an apology to the I Mayor and Council. He. admitted that j lie had overstepped the mark, but c-on- ! sidered that lie had not been treated I fairly over the matter of the Taylor Street drainage question. In repi3" to Councillor Kelly's query, the Mayor said lie had no intention of opening -up the question that night, as the councillor's notice of motion did not provide for such. Councillor Kelly resumed his seat, and an unpleasant incident was closed,
