THE MASSEY MEMORIAL.
"ALMOST AN INSULT."'
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
MORRINSVILLE, Tuesday. "I somehow feel sorry about it," remarked the chairman (Cr. F. W. Wal- • tera) at the Piako County Council meeting yesterday, when he "regretted that under the -present system sufficient funds might not be forthcoming befitting of a suitable memorial for the latn ITon. W. F. Massey. Cr. Lowry. It seems almost an insult that the Piako county should send only about £20 or £30. It was considered that the monument should be erected by the Government and that the present system of colleem tion was inadequate. It was decided to return the lists and the amounts collected with an explanation on the lines of the opinions expressed.
