RETAILERS' ANNUAL MEETING.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON,. Tuesday. ■ -The Jirst- combined annual-conference of the New Zealand Motor Trade Association and the Wholesale Motor-cycle Traders' Association was continded this afternoon. The wholesalers having adjourned to a separate private meeting, the retailers •proceeded to hold their annual meeting/ Mr.'L.iTreleavan presided. Referring to' the report, he ; said the technical training scheme was being successfully carried on. ! Motor exhibitions contributed to the success of the, association, some of the more noteworthy; in the smaller towns being those at ; Hamilton and Oamaru. The election of officers resulted: —President. Mr. J. A. Gillett. .Auckland, treasurer and secretary, Mr. J. F. Cousins, Wellington; auditor, Mr. E. A. Fuller, Palmerston North. Among the delegates appointed as council by the various branches were: Auckland, Mr. G. M "White; South Auckland, Mr. E. b' Eraser; Thames Valley Mr. A. J. ClarkeTe Kuiti, Mr. Mostyn Jones. The conference passed ■ the following motions:—That the various branches of the New Zealand Wholesale Motor-cycle Traders' Association and New Zealand Motor Trade Association throughout the Dominion jointly organise an annual joy-ride for the benefit of orphans, and that the Saturday afternoon nearest December 12 in each'year he devoted-to that purpose. That a benevolent fund be established for the relief of distress among persons and families connected with the motor industry of-the Dominion, and that the trustees for. the control and distribution of the fund be the president and secretary respectively for the time being of the Wholesale Motor-cycle Traders' Association and'the New Zealand Motor Trade Association, who in turn would appoint annually from their number a chairman and an hon. secretary. - " ' Mr. H. C. Jones, of Auckland, one time president, was elected a- life member. Members.spoke eulogistically of the"valuable services Mr. Jones had rendered in the past.
