PORK EXPORT.
ROOM FOR EXPANSION. Discussing- the question or the export or pig- products, Pyne. Gould. Guinness. Ltd.'s " Annual Review" states that not much headway lias hecn made during tho year in the direction of developing- the export side of tho industry- " The scope Tor expansion ln tills direction is almost unlimited. This expansion Is retarded for the time being by the subsidiary position that the pig - industry occupies ln general farming- operations. No doubt the removal Of this disability is dependent on a permanent overseas outlet being- developed, as an Incr.asc in production in tlie meantime would only mean the over supplyingof the local market, with a consequent depression in prices. The Meat Board has been devoting attention to the matter, with, it is hoped, prospects or somethingtangible resulting- in the near future."
