The Mount Kden Borough Council met last night, when there were present the Mayor (Mr. E. It. Potter) and Councillors J. M. Melville. W. Woolley. D. C. Fraser. J. r. Ilootoa, 11. . lt-K. Morrison, F. Morris, S. Neweomb, ti. h. Taylor, G. XV. Lange, and J. Smith. A letter was received from Mr. J. T. Halstead complaining of the fact that through there being no lire alarms the brigade was delayed in getting to a fire at his house. It wns decided to get a report from the fire brigade. Messrs. .T. ,T. Ite.-ir.on nnd Son wrote Stating that they had kept back brick shops nt the end 'of Dominion Koad seven feet from ihe existing alignment.
