A piece of evidence calculated to confound those who, like Samuel Butler, hold that the Darwinian theory developed into a deadlock in view of the non-transmission of required characteristics, has come to light in Akaroa. The "Mail" records that a few days ago a calf was born at Robinson's Bay with the earmarks of its mother perfectly reproduced.
