OBITUARY.
MR. EDWARD DAINES. ' (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAURANGA, this day. Xe\vs was received in the town yesterday that Mr. Edward Dames had died at his residence. Cameron Road. The end was not unexpected, as Mr. Dames has been gradually failing for some time. Deceased was one of the fast disappearing band of old pioneer settlers who settled in Tauranga in the early days. Until failing health prevented, he took an active part in the affairs of the town, his happy, genial disposition endearing Kirn to till with whom he came in contact. He is survived by a widow, two daughters—the Misses Dames—and one son—Mr. John Dames, building contractor.
