a TAKAPUNA BOATING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The sixth annual meeting of tho Takapuna Boating Club wns held last evening iv the clubhouse, Bayswatcr, Commodore J. C. Woodley presiding over a large attendance of ladies and gentlemer. The report stated that the club regatta and other fixtures held during the season had been well contested. The Cornwell Cup contest attracted crews from Dunedin. Wellington and the Manukau. The chief Interests of the committee were centred in tbe clubhouse, which has proved a very flne asset. During the year various concerts, socials and a bazaar were held, all proving most popular, resulting in a substantial reduction of the debt. It was proposed to concentrate activities on the clubhouse this season, when the committee hoped to clear off the debt. The club would then devote more attention to the racing side of the sport. The balance-sheet showed the financial position to be very satisfactory. The income for the year was tlllT 14/4, which left a credit balance ot iP)I 7/7. The_ciubhouSe and fixtures were valued at £2677. the outstanding liabilities amounting to £1235. Before the election of officers was proceeded with, Mr. Woodley announced that for private reasons he was not seeking re-election. Mr. G. fB. Warman also wished to retire from the position of vicecommodore, but had agreed to act as clubhouse captain. Mr. A. Kambaud asked for a spell ns re,ir-commodore also, bnt would still assist in other ways. The following officers were then elected:—Patron, Mr. A. M. Gould; vice-patrons, Messrs. A. Harris. M.P. and W. Blomfleld; commodore. Mr. O. Moller; vice-commodore. Mr. V. G. Easson; rear-commodore, Mr. Roy Lidgard; clubhouse captain, Mr. Geo. B. Warman; hon. secretary. Mr. L. S. Davis; hon. treasurer, Mr. It. Lock; assistant secretary, Mr. E. C. Collard; hon. solicitor, Mr. A. St. C. Brown; hon. auditor, Mr. E. 11. Boyd; committee, Messrs. ,L C. Woodley, 11. G. Carr. M. Forsvth. T. Korf/cr. J. .T. Mackay. A. Smyth, C. Brinsd'T. L. J. Peters, F. SkerVitt, R. Reid and V.\ J. Burnett. Mr. 'Moller. in returning thanks for his election as commodore, paid a graceful tribute to the good work of the retiring commodore, Mr. Woodley, also to the vieeand rear-commodores fpr their keen interest in the club. Mr. F. Fortzer was especially thanked for his work since the establishment of the club, aud Mr. Moller said he had well earned a rest. For his past services on behalf of the clubhouse, Mr. Geo. B. Warman was elected an hon. life member. Mr. Moller said they intended to make a serious efTort this year to wipe off the remaining debt on the clubhouse, and were confident that, with the continued assistance of the ladles, they would achieve this object. Two alterations and additions to the club rules were carried on the motion of Mr. 11. G. Carr. Mr. W. A. Wilkinson was presented with an enlarged photo of the clubhouse for his services at the club regatta. A vote of thanks to the Press concluded the business.
