AQUATICS.
MANUKATJ CRUISING CLUB. ANNUAL PRIZE SIGHT. The annual presentation of prizes of the Manukau Cruising Club was held in the Orphans' Hall, Onehunga, on Saturday night, the president, Mr. S. E. Smith, presiding over a large attendance of members .and friends. A very pleasant evening was spent in dancing, interspersed with musical items by the Misses Bentley and Seneh, and Messrs. D. and H. Black. The prizes wen- presented by the patron of the club. Mr. W. .7. Jordan, M.P. The champion cup was won by Sylvia (Mr. C. Paul). The Morton Cup (a points cup for yachts) was won by Mystery (Mr. J. Bouzaid), who also carried off the Fenron Cup and several other trophies. The remainder or the yachting prizes were well distributed among the various boats. The Ormroyd Cup (points cup for launches) was won by Verdi (Mr. Howe), who also carried off several other prizes. Salome (Commodore Smith) was successful in again winning the Jordan Cup, which now becomes this boat's property. A large number of prizes were carried off by the other competitors. During the evening Mr. Jordan presented a life member's medal to Mr. Fearon in recognition of his valuable services and interest taken in the club since its formation.
NAVAL CUTTER RACE
PETONE BEATS DUNEDIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTOX, Saturday. In the naval cutter race for the White Horse trophy three crews competed, H.M.s. Dunedin, loth Battery and Petone. An exciting race was won by Petoue by four lengths. 1 . v,1 battery crew just beating the Dunedin's crew for second place.
