OPERA HOUSE.

The programme at Fuller's Opera House commencing- to-day promises to be of a very hlg-h class standard. Included-on the bill will be the ilrst appearance in Auckland of a famous London star. Wee Willie Lancet, and Co. This artist is the smallest comedian in the world, and his act is billed as the " smallest comedian in the world with the biggest laughs." His stylo or work is dilTerent to what we have been uspd to, and he is assisted in his comedy sketch by two other line artists who figure prominently in the act. The Veterans or Variety will g-ive a complote change of programme, and will render more of their old-time songs, and each member will be dressed in their old time costumes and suits ol" thirty years ago. Other acts will also appear. MUNICIPAL CONCERT. A concert arranged for the men of tlio American Fleet was given in the Town Hall on Saturday night, very few or the visitors were present, but there was an attendance or 1000 or the public. Mr. Maug-han Barnett directed the proceedings, and provided a programme of an interesting- character. Several part songs were contributed in a finished way by the Municipal Ghoir, specially notable being the sing-ing- of Dudley Buck's "Hymn to Music," Roberton's " The Outgoing or tiw Boats," Stewart's setting or " The Bells or St. Michael's Tower," Shaw's "An EvenIng's Pastorale," and Coleridge-Taylor's " Drake's Drum." Mr. Barnett gave highly successrul renderings on the grand organ of Boellmann's " Toccata," Saint-Saens' "Le Cygne," and airs rrom " Carmen." Miss Margaret Stoddart was heard in pleasing performances of violin solos by Lederer and Roger Quilter, arter which she was warmly acclaimed. Mr. w. Brough sang several songs in good style, his work giving: pleasure. The accompaniments were in the experienced bands of Messrs Randall and Towsey. BOYS OF THE OLD BRIGADE. The old boys and honorary members of the fire brigade and salvage corps held their annual reunion on Saturday night, when there was a g-ood muster or all branches. A number of American naval guests were also present. The chair waa taken by the president, Mr. J. Lumplcin, and the vice-chair by Mr. Archer. The toast or the visitors was proposed by the Rev. W. E. Gillam (a lire-member or the Association) who related some amusingincidents or nre-nghting- in the. old days. Superiijtendpnt Garrett, of the Thames fire brigade, proposed the toast of Old Comrades, -coupled with the names of Mr., Oowanu, of the Mount Eden brig-ade. .and Mr. Mulden, ol' the City brigade. Both, responded witli tales or the days gone by. Tho health was drunk or Captain Field, who is at present in hospital recovering from a serious operation. The last toast was Tor those who had served twenty-flvu years and more, and it was interesting to see the proud member who had many medals and bars, each bar representing, two 5-ears , service. thanks was passed to the gentlemen who? provided the musical portion or the programme. Mr. Foreshore responded. Mr. W. Percy presided at the piano. The verypleasant evening closed with the sininng of " Auld Lang Syne."
