YOUTH PLEADS GUILTY. COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE. Charged in the Police Court liiis morning with (1) breaking and entering tin? house of George Johnston McKay ana sitaling a silver watch, a gold ch-v'n and a v«li e ?. valued at £16; (2) broik>ng and e.-iicvlnp the house of G. M. Browning and stealing £3; and (3) breaking hi ,1 entering the home of Mabel V. McNicholl with intent to eomn«it ;. crane, a 17-year oid youth. Ddvnl Baden Powell (Mr. Xewbury. instructed by Mr. Finlay) pleaded guilty and was committed by the magistrate (Mr. J. \v. Poynton, S.M.) to the Supreme Court for sentence. In a statement, produced by Detective O Sullivan, accused stated that, up till April 17. ho resided with his father at Thames. Owing to something he did, he had a disagreement with his parent. He left home and wem to the place of an uncle at Hamilton, and then came to Auckland, and stayed at Vincent Street. About April 2!),' he went to the house of Mr. McKay, in Wood Street. Ponsonby, and knocked at the back door. Receiving no answer, he went to a window, opened it, went inside, and stole a watch, a chain and a locket. He had them in bis possession when arrested at Dunedin. On or about April 30, accused stated, ho went to the home of Grace Maynard Browning, in Aldred Street. Rpiiiuera. He knocked on the front door, but, receiving no answer went to the back, where he saw an invalid lady on the verandah. Sht appeared to be blind and took n.> notice of him. so he went round to the front again, opened a window and searched a front bedroom. Hβ found three one pound notes in a drawer. He took them and left the house by tli' front door. About May 15, accused went to the house of Mabel Verona McXicholl, in Home Street. Grey Lynn. Fie entered through a side ' window, but found nothing worth taking away. '"Are you married again ?'' asked Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.. of a judgment debtor this morning. The reply was "Not yet."
