NEW BEAM STATIONS. LONDON, August 14. The Postmaster-General (Sir W. M. Thompson) announces that a site at Skegness for the receiving station in connection with the beam wireless services to Australia and India has been placed at the disposal of the contractors. The latter are due to complete this station, and also the transmitting station at Grimsby, by May 8. — (Reuter.) IMPORTS AND EXPORTS. BRITISH FIGURES FOR JULY. LONDON, August 14. Compared with July, 1924, the imports into the United Kingdom last month decreased by £9,352,317, and exports by £6,456,920. Re-exports increased by £1,201,601. The principal decreases were: Imand flour £2,407,803, timber £1 735 781, raw cotton £1,975,722, silk £1,391,005, oils and fats £1,499084. Exports—Coal £1898,529, cotton yarns and manufactures £1,015,380, woollen and worsted yarns £1,780,919. The chief increase in imports was rubber £1,832,828.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
