TRAMWAYMEN TO VISIT FLEET.
Admiral Robison has 'invited the officers and men of the Auckland City Tramway Department, with their families,* to visit the U.S.s. California on Monday morning and Tuesday afternoon, this arrangement making it possible for the men on both "shifts" to have an opportunity of inspecting the battleship. The trams are being used extensively by the "Jackies," who are granted free rides, and Mr. A. E. Ford, the manager, approached the Admiral regarding the. possibilities of the employees seeing the flagship. Admiral Robison expressed much pleasure in extending the invitation, which is, in turn, greatly appreciated by the tramwayiuen.
