AI7NTJAI, MEETING. AT ELLERSLIE COURSE. HYPOTHESIS WINS HUKT CLUB CUP The annual meeting of the Pakuranga Hunt Club was held to-day at Ellerslie Racecourse. The weather was ideal, and ihe attendance very large, being swelled con'siderab'y by the" 150 officers and 1000 seamen from "the United States Fleet, who were the guests of the c!ub. Panchito went to the front, followed by Glnger Carl. Stonewall. Birkenrose. Cvi Bono and Long Rein. Panchito held his position a'ong the back, and passing the stand was attended by Stonewall, Birkenrose. Ginger Carl, Auburn, Long Rein, and Cvi Bono. Stonewall led out of the straight and along the back from Panchito. Birkenrose. Ginger Carl and Cvi Bono. Auburn and Birkenrose fell at the fence by the old five furlong post, and Stonewall Ted up the hill from Ginger Carl and Cvi Bono. Ginger Carl came to grief at the top of the hill, and Stonewall led down the incline and into the straight from Cvi Bono, and Bahadur, and going on won by five lergths from Cvi Bono, which beat Bahadur by ten lengths. Then came Pukehuia. Miss Bramble, and Panchito. Long Rein fell at the last fence. Time. 5.25. When they settled down Arsene Lupin was in front, and led into the straight from Patrolett. Fire Screen falling at the first fence. Passing the stand the order .was: Arsene Lupin. King Amnns. Patrolett, Kauri Park, Chirrup and Faber. with Tantanoola last. Patrolett lost his rider at the second hurdle, and King Araans ran along the back from Arsene Lupin. Kauri Park and Chirrup, Faber and Tantanoola being a long way back. Arsene Lupin had again taken charge when they crossed the top, with King Amans, Kauri Park and Chirrup all handy. The four came into the straight almost on terms. Once over the last fence. Kauri Park drew out to win by three-quarters of a length from Arsene Lupin, which beat King Amans by a similar distance. Chirrup was fourth, and Faber the only other one to finish. The Two-year-old Parade. A two-year-old parade was held at 10 o'clock, and the result is as follows : — ROYAL TEA, eh c, by T. Bipon Abbey, Lady Swift, and The Mahdi were the first to show out, and going along the back the order was Rlpon Abbey, Lady Swift, Queen Arch, and Gold Mint. Crossing the top Bipou Abbey was still In charge, with. Queen Arch. Gold Mint, and Irish Jig most prominent of the others. Ripon Abbey was first into the straight from Queen Arch, Irish Jig, Lady Swift, and Sir Henry. Going on Rlp.ou Abbey held his own to win by two lengths from "Queen Arch, which beat Irish Jig by one and a-balf lengths. Adi Vunivola was fourth, with Sir Henry, Peter Amans and Wyoming amongst the next to finish. Time, 1.47 3-5. JELLICOK HANDICAP, of 500sovs. One mile and a-quarter. 4 —PASSIONATE, eh g, aged, by San Francisco —Passion (Mr. J. W. Anderton), 10.3— W. Queen Emerald was in front, and led past the stewards' stand from Zircon. Bute Sound, Doleful Ditty, Gala Day, Marble Glass. Marble Slab and Cureaform, with Passionate last. Queen Emerald waa still in charge along the back from Zircon, Bute Sound, Marble Glass, Gala Day, Doleful Ditty and Cureaform, while Passionate was starting to move up. Queen Emerald held her position across the top from Zircon, Bute Sound, and Doleful Ditty, while Passionate was coming fast on the outside. Queen Emerald was first to turn for home, with Zircon, Cureaform, Doleful Ditty, Marble Glass and Passionate next. At the distance Passionate and Cureaform came through, and in a good finish Passionate got up in time to beat Zircon by half a length, with Cureaform a neck away third.
