In the county cricket championships, Surrey in their first innings against Middlesex, made 203 runs (Hobbs 49, Shepherd 57); Allen took five wickets for 40 runs. Middlesex in their first innings made 183 (Hearne 53); Fender took four -wickets for 54. The match was abandoned. Sussex in their first innings against Kent ecored 234 (Bowley 57), while the second venture yielded only 97; Marriott took five wickets for 31, Freeman four for 49.
