WEATHER IN ANTARCTIC.
METEOROLOGICAL MISSION. CAPTAIN WILKINS' INTENTIONS OSLO, August 12. Captain G. H. Wilkins has arrived at Oslo in connection with his international scheme for the development of Antarctic meteorology. The explorer states that he is negotiating with Captain Raold Amundsen for the use of his Arctic aeroplane. Captain Wilkins , Antarctic machine is in good order, but will not be available this year. A special imitation was extended to Captain Wilkins to attend a gala dramatic performance last night in honour of the Amundsen party, at which the King and Queen of Norway were present. Captain Wilkins will shortly go to Sandefjord to inspect the boats to be used on the Antarctic trip. . He will then return to Oslo to hear Captain Amundsen's first lecture on the North Pole flight.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
