ceived at the entrance by the DeputyMayor, Mr. J. A. Warnock, who was assisted charmingly by Mrs. Warnock, handsomely, but quietly gowned in black chiffon velvet with georgette banded sleeves bordered with fur and finished with a diamentc ornament. During the evening the guests were presented to Admiral Ro'bison and ViceAdmiral Wiley. Admiral Eobison was i accompanied by Mrs. Robison, Who wore a very handsome black silk ; Chinese Mandarin coat emblazoned in gold thread. Mrs. Robison was accompanied by Mrs. Thornett (Sydney), who was in gold lace with oriental wrap. The guests were presented by Sir James , Parr, who was accompanied by Lady Parr in an iridescent frock of sequins over black and midnight blue. Mrs. W.
