MILITARY TRAINING.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —We have a Military Act in this country, but at present it seems to be abused. Every township and city seems to have its share of dodgers. It may surprise the majority of people to know that dailywe have arriving in this country, quite a number of youths and young men eligible to do training under our Military Act. They dodge doing their training by putting themselves down as tourists. Yet these said tourists are now firmly established in business places in the country. Surely a country worth coming to peek a living in, is worth complying with its laws. There seems only one sensible way of catching all those eligible, under the Act. Make it compulsory that before any youth or young man can obtain employment, he is to show n certificate stating he is already fulfilling his obligations re the act, any employer employing those who are not doing their duty under the Act to bo heavily fined. This would catch everyone eligible to train and would be doing justice to those who are lawabiding youths and young men.—l am. etc., " JUSTICE.
