DUTCH COMPETITION. A PROPOSED AMALGAMATION. (Received 11 a.m.l LONDON, August 11. The "Daily Mail" learns that Dutch shipyards are intensifying competition by accepting contracts at a minimum margin of profit. British shipyards are unable to compete. A syndicate is arranging for the amalgamation of the Wilton firm of Rotterdam, Britain's principal individual competitor, with the big Reihersteig shipyard at Hamburg.—(A. and X.Z. Cable.) THE CITY OF SINGAPORE. BEING TOWED TO ROTTERDAM. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, August 11.
