N.S.W. MINERS.
TROUBLE BREWING. SYDNEY, August 11. A board of miners' delegates is sitting at Newcastle to consider the serious | position which has arisen as a result of the result of Palawa miners to work air turbine machines unless the rates and the conditions concerning the working of the machine? are first determined by the roal tribunal. The latter has refused to hear the claims unless the machines are worked. The men in refusing this ignored the advice of the leaders of the Miners' Federation. If the delegates' board fails to arrive at a solution of the trouble, and if the men persist in their attitude, it ia considered that a general mining unheaval may result. Feeling in tlte district is very strong and many miners' lodges! are urging the calling of aggregate meet- j ings to determine what action shall be taken.— (A. and X.Z. Cable.) |
