NEW ZEALAND SOCCER.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I read with interest the observations made in the "Star" by Mr. A. Menzies concerning the Soccer game in Australia, and his criticism of the English tourlns team. It would be interesting to know just what Mr. Menzies means when he says in his opinion the class of football produced by the English team was not the same as seen here. He infers, apparently, that the class of -Soccer displayed here is superior to that of the English "team. With all due respect to New Zealand Soccer which is on the improve, I think most impartial judges who really understand the Soccer game will agree with mc that the suggestion that the game in New Zealand is on the same level or superior to a picked English team or the average professional team is absurd. Would Mr. Menzies be so bold ac to predict that a picked team from these shores would be (food enough to visit Australia find win every match, as the English team has done in a pretty arduous tour. I hae ma dootsl I am, etc., HO:iIE.
